4 Pristine Beaches on Australia's East Coast for your Bucket List
You may have seen the immaculate blue water and white sand Australia has to offer, but where do you find these I hear you ask?
Here are our 4 favourite beaches on Australia's East Coast to add to your bucket list.
1. WHITEHAVEN BEACH, WHITSUNDAYS
Nestled in the Great Barrier Reef, Whitehaven Beach is one of the most pristine beaches in the whole of Australia! It was also the winner of the 2021 Tripadvisor 'Best of the Best Award' for Beaches! Now that is something!
Top things to do:
i. Hill Inlet Lookout (Spectacular views of Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet)
ii. Snorkelling (Get close and personal with some unique coral and marine life)
iii. Ocean Rafting (Guides you to both the above experiences on a 500hp semi-rigid inflatable watercraft!)
iv. Overnight sailing tour (Guided sailing tour from Airlie Beach to Whitehaven Beach)
v. Just enjoy the beach (You might spot some stingrays and baby sharks. 100% photogenic views!)

2. FITZROY ISLAND, CAIRNS
Off the coast of Cairns, Fitzroy Island is a tropical paradise of unique coral beaches and crystal clear water. If you're seeking relaxation, this is the perfect destination! There is only one resort on Fitzroy Island (Fitzroy Island Resort) so it's really just you, the ocean and the sun bed.. and maybe some kayaking, standup paddle boarding and hiking to absorb the immaculate views.
Important:
Irukandji jellyfish season is from around November to May each year. If you're going to be in the water during that time, make sure you have a stinger suit (available for hire at the resort or bring your own). Irukandji jellyfish are pocket rockets that can definitely pack some sting.

3. SURFERS PARADISE TO BROADBEACH, GOLD COAST
Hello Gold Coast - the home of Surfers Paradise (yes, that is the actual location name). The beach that runs from Surfers Paradise to Broadbeach is absolutely stunning! If you're into walks along the beach, you can do so from Surfers Paradise to Broadbeach in about 45mins at a brisk pace.
At each of the locations, you have access to an abundance of cafe, restaurant and bar options should you wish to replenish your energy and absorb the vibes the Gold Coast has on offer.
If you're into exercising, there is also a pedestrian path that runs along the beachfront for a workout with the best view!

4. COOGEE BEACH, SYDNEY
Travel 20min South East from the heart of Sydney and you'll find Coogee Beach, where soft sand and gentle waves is a thing. You'll also find an array of restaurant and cafe options located in the nearby promenade, some restored from unique historical buildings.
If you do wish to head to a restaurant right after a beach session, you will find change room and shower facilities near the beach on Arden Street off Coogee Bay Road.
Along the promenade, you'll also find one of Australia's BEST coastal walks - the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk. The walk is 6km (3.7mi) one way and takes about 2hrs at a brisk pace. There are many unique photo opportunities along the walk so we recommend allowing extra time to stop and absorb the amazing views the walk has to offer.
