Self Care Day - Brisbane

In a bustling city (especially with the effects of COVID restrictions), self care is more important than ever. So.. we are sharing a self care day with you to do on your own, or with a friend!

Join a yoga class - We love yoga because it improves your flexibility, strength and balance, as well as your mind. If you have a gym membership already, there may be yoga classes that operate there. You can always join those or ask for a trial class first if you want to be cost effective in your approach. Alternatively, head onto YouTube and do a free session at home!

Enjoy a nutritious breakfast - Here are some of the must try breakfast locations in Brisbane:

  • Pawpaw Cafe, Woolloongabba (Southside)

  • Double Shot, New Farm (Central)

  • NAÏM, Paddington (Northside)

  • 85 Miskin St, Toowong (Westside) - These guys are only open Saturday mornings for brunch, but they have an amazing breakfast degustation! Make sure you book!

Have a picnic at the park - Here are some of our favourite locations:

  • New Farm Park - Especially nice in Jacaranda season around October.

  • Kangaroo Point Cliffs (You can stay at the top or take the Kangaroo Point stairs to the bottom near the Brisbane River)

  • Wilsons Outlook Reserve - You get immaculate views of Brisbane city.

Get a massage - Here are some of our favourites and most legit:

  • Massage Hut - The owner Nan is lovely but they do get booked out quickly

  • Healing Hands Thai Massage

Enjoy a Candle lit dinner - Get some UberEats set up some relaxing music, light some candles and bob's your uncle!

Go for an evening stroll - Here are the top locations around town:

  • New Farm River Walk - This takes you through New Farm, Howard Smith Wharfs (Felons Brewery) and into the City.

  • The Cliffs Broadwalk, Kangaroo Point - Immaculate views of the Kangaroo Point Cliffs at night, Brisbane City and Southbank.

  • Submariners Walk Heritage Trail, Teneriffe - For a relax stroll along the river.

Read a book before bed - These are some top rated mindfulness and growth books:

"Self-care is often the first thing that gets sacrificed when life is busy and stressful, and people often think that taking time for themselves seems indulgent. But looking after your own wellbeing will help you get through this challenging time, and will help you to better care for others."

We hope you enjoy this and can incorporate your own version of self care routine into your daily life to pause, refresh and reset.

Happy travels.
